Join the new book club which will be hosted at Anarres bokkafé the second saturday of every month! By discussing both utopian and dystopian futures, we can imagine different and better ways of living. We will be reading both classics and newer releases. The first book is ‘The Dispossessed’ (1974) by Ursula K. Le Guin, where the name Anarres originated.
«A bleak moon settled by utopian anarchists, Anarres has long been isolated from other worlds, including its mother planet, Urras—a civilization of warring nations, great poverty, and immense wealth. Now Shevek, a brilliant physicist, is determined to reunite the two planets, which have been divided by centuries of distrust.»
You will be able to purchase the books at Anarres, but that is not a requirement for joining – it is great if you already own it, get it from the library etc. We will be meeting on the 9th of August from 14:00-16:00. The next book will be ‘Dawn’ by Octavia E. Butler. Hope to see you there!
